Study Background The goal of our study is to develop better treatment options for individuals recovering from alcohol and opioid addiction. Our study investigates how individual differences may contribute to the risk for relapse in individuals with alcohol and opioid use disorder. We will examine how you respond to rewards and drug-related cues, stressors and negative events, and inhibition challenges related to the likelihood of relapse and drop-out during treatment. Volunteers who do not have a substance use disorder will contribute to our study's success. Our hope is that by understanding individual differences in dependent users and how they differ from non-addicted individuals, we can help in developing more effective treatments that reduce the rates of relapse. |
