About Our Research Study
Help further research on how CBD affects chronic pain and opioid use. The opioid use epidemic has spiraled out of control. Research suggests that opioid use and overdose deaths have worsened since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is incredibly important to identify new, readily available interventions that may be used to target chronic pain and opioid use. Researchers at the University of Colorado want to combat the country's opioid epidemic by learning more about the effects of hemp-derived CBD on chronic pain and opioid use. Join the study to help researchers learn more about how CBD can help target chronic pain and opioid use and/or prescription medication use. This study plans to learn more about cannabidiol (CBD) in reducing pain and pain medication use (prescription and over-the-counter).
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

- 18+ years old
- Interested in using CBD to reduce opioid and/or pain medication use
- Can travel to the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus for study visits
- Have access to reliable internet to complete online weekly surveys
Your participation in this research study will be 16 weeks, with 12 weeks of study medication use. This includes 2 remote visits, 4 in-person visits at CU Anschutz Medical campus, and weekly surveys.
Compensation will be provided for participation in the study.
There is no cost for you to participate in our research program.
