About Our Research Study
Help further research on how CBD affects chronic pain and opioid use. The opioid use epidemic has spiraled out of control. Research suggests that opioid use and overdose deaths have worsened since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is incredibly important to identify new, readily available interventions that may be used to target chronic pain and opioid use. Researchers at the University of Colorado want to combat the country's opioid epidemic by learning more about the effects of hemp-derived CBD on chronic pain and opioid use. Join the study to help researchers learn more about how CBD can help target chronic pain and opioid use. |

Why is this study being done?
This study plans to learn more about cannabidiol (CBD) in reducing pain, opioid use, and opioid craving.

You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:
- 18+ years old
- Interested in using CBD to reduce opioid use and/or chronic pain
- Can travel to the University of Colorado for study visits
- Have access to a webcam and Wi-Fi for online visits
- Not using recreational drugs
What will happen if I participate in the study?
Your participation in this research study will be 16 weeks, with 12 weeks of study medication use.
Main procedures of study participation include cognitive tasks, blood draws, drug and pregnancy tests, and questionnaires.

Will I be paid for being in this research study?
Compensation up to $250 will be provided for participation in this study.
