Our Research Study
Researchers at your local health center, in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, are testing non-surgical treatment options for chronic knee pain.
Knee pain is a leading cause of disability worldwide. If you have osteoarthritis of the knee, your symptoms may include: pain in the knee that increases with exercise, swelling, feeling of warmth in the joint, stiffness, and a decrease in mobility. Knee osteoarthritis is most commonly caused by age, but it could also occur from injury, weight, or other factors. Currently, there is no cure for osteoarthritis, but there are a number of treatments to help relieve the symptoms.

Our research program will explore the effectiveness of non-surgical treatments such as medication-assisted treatment, nerve block/ablation, and joint injections to reduce knee pain and improve function. Participants will work alongside doctors and receive state-of-the-art medical care. Join the SKOAP research study and improve your health!
