Study Background
A recent study reported that daily heavy cannabis users have tried to quit numerous times in the past year but could not because of symptoms like sleeplessness, restlessness, irritability, cannabis cravings, and other physical symptoms.

The study will look at the efficacy of an investigational medication in helping people quit smoking marijuana with a specific focus on reducing withdrawal symptoms.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
Inclusion Criteria:
- 18-55 years old
- Smoke cannabis every day and motivated to quit
- Experience withdrawal symptoms when you try to stop (sleep difficulties, irritability, anxiety, etc.)
- Willing and able to abstain from alcohol use during the study
Once enrolled, participation involves:
- Before the study: a screening visit with an EKG and blood draw. Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to one of 4 medication groups or a placebo group.
- During the study: Medication is taken on a nightly video call for 5 weeks. During this time, participants will have one clinic visit and one remote visit.
- After the study: two weeks after participants stop taking the study medication, there will be another visit with an EKG and blood draw.
Compensation of up to $1,930 is provided for participation.
There is no cost to you for participating in the study.
