Study Background
Our researchers want to learn more about how an oral nicotine pouch affects your blood nicotine levels and how you feel, compared to your own brand of smokeless tobacco (also called chewing tobacco, chew, dip, or snuff).

Oral nicotine pouches are a newer category of tobacco product. They do not contain tobacco but are derived from tobacco and contain nicotine, flavorings, sweeteners, and other plant-based fibers. Because oral nicotine pouches have not been around for a long time, they are less regulated by the FDA than traditional smokeless tobacco, and their long-term effects are still unknown.
