About Our Research Study
The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the medical decision-making needs of patients and caregivers living with ADRD (Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias). People with ADRD and their caregivers face challenges that require planning and important decision-making. After a certain point in the progression of a person’s dementia, the person’s caregiver has to make decisions for them. Researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital Frontotemporal Disorders Unit are working with caregivers of patients in the different stages of ADRD to try to learn what kinds of educational tools would be most helpful at each stage. Information from this research study may improve advanced care planning in the future and help caregivers of ADRD patients. Further care planning research and join our compensated study today! |

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about medical decision-making needs for patients and caregivers living with ADRD.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
Inclusion Criteria:
- A caregiver of someone who has been diagnosed with dementia, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Posterior Cortical Atrophy or related dementias
- 18 years or older
- Have internet access
Participation involves:
- Completing online surveys
- Participating in an hour-long virtual study session with a staff member that will involve a brief discussion about medical decisions surrounding late-stage dementia care
- Participating in two video calls (approximately 30 minutes each) after three months and six months of study participation
- Total time commitment is approximately 3 hours over a six-month period
Participants will receive up to $75 for their participation in this study.
