This study aims to understand the effectiveness of the combination of 2 medications to treat cocaine addiction. The two medications are extended-release naltrexone and extended-release buprenorphine.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.
Inclusion Criteria:
Ages 18-65
Currently uses cocaine regularly
Considering stopping or reducing cocaine use
Not currently in treatment for substance abuse
If female, not currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
Have not been in a prior research study for cocaine use disorder in past 6 months
Able to come to 2 outpatient study visits per week
Participants in this study will receive a total of 5 injections over 8 weeks. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either: 1) the two medications mentioned or 2) placebo injections.
Compensation up to $1,603 is provided for participation in the study.
Study participants will be provided with study medication and study related procedures at no cost to them or their insurance.
