| Study Background The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is investigating how the brain responds differently to food reward cues and how this relates to eating. For this study, our researchers are partnering with individuals in two groups: daily smokers (who smoke cigarettes every day) and nonsmokers (who do not smoke cigarettes). Over the course of the study, participants will be asked to complete questionnaires, have an EEG brain scan, and complete an easy task. The goal of our study is to evaluate the differences in brain reactivity to cues predicting food rewards and how this is connected with eating.
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria.

- Smoker: Smoke cigarettes daily
- Non-smoker: Do not smoke cigarettes
- 21 years or older
- Not currently receiving treatment to quit smoking
- No major medical, neurological, or psychiatric conditions
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
Once enrolled, this study involves:
- 2 study visits, each 3-4 hours
- Completing questionnaires
- An EEG brain scan with food rewards
- A study task
